Beazer, Govich and Martin Added to Vibrations

Broadway.com has learned that Tracee Beazer, Milena Govich and John Jeffrey Martin will join David Larsen and Kate Reinders in the cast of the upcoming Broadway musical Good Vibrations. American Idol's Justin Guarini, who appeared in the musical this summer at Vassar's Powerhouse Theater, is also now set for the Broadway production.

"I love the music," Beazer told Broadway.com. "It's tight and so full. It's going to be a crazy year."

Beazer has appeared on Broadway in Hairspray. Her off-Broadway credits include Radiant Baby and Pirates of Penzance. Her regional credits include Dreamgirls, Anything Goes and Lone Star Love. She was announced for the upcoming off-Broadway production of Lone Star Love, but she to withdrew because of her involvement with Good Vibrations. The role of Grace in Lone Star Love will now be played by Asmeret Ghebremichael Footloose on Broadway and the Aida first national tour.

Govich appeared on Broadway in Cabaret and The Boys from Syracuse. She was recently featured as Carla in the North Shore Music Theater production of Nine. Her other regional theater credits include Cabaret, Jekyll & Hyde, Oliver!, Children of Eden and Man of La Mancha.

Martin is currently featured as Fender in Hairspray. He previously appeared on the Great White Way in The Rocky Horror Show. His regional theater credits include the Paper Mill Playhouse 2003 mounting of Grease.

Guarini was an aspiring stage actor when he chose American Idol over a part in The Lion King. During the first season of American Idol, he became a popular star, even though he eventually lost the big prize to Kelly Clarkson. After the competition was over, he was quickly signed to RCA records and after a tour with Clarkson and the filming of their movie From Justin to Kelly began recording his self-titled debut album, which came out on June 10, 2003. From Justin to Kelly was released in theaters 10 days later. Guarini was reportedly dropped from RCA Records last winter.

Good Vibrations follows the romantic misadventures of a group of small-town teenagers on a life-changing odyssey to the promised land: the beaches of Southern California. It features music by Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys and a book by Richard Dresser.

Good Vibrations, directed and choreographed by John Carrafa, is scheduled to begin previews at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre on December 20 in preparation for a January 27 opening.
